A Little About Me
I grew up over the toll bridge in Channelview. I graduated from Channelview High School in 1988. I attended the University of Houston Central Campus, and I finished college in December 1993. I immediately began teaching English Language Arts at Alice Johnson Jr. High--the same junior high I attended as a student. I taught there for nine years before moving to Bonnette Jr High in August 2003. This officially makes me one of the old-timers at Bonnette.
My family is my constant source of joy! My husband Terry is the Student Support Administrator in Goose Creek CISD. Our son Eric, who graduated from Deer Park in 2013, joined the Army after getting his accounting degree. After a four-year stint in Hawaii, Eric is home from the Army and is studying to a physical therapist. Our daughter Elizabeth graduated from Deer Park High School in 2022. She's a fantastic writer who has won several Scholastic Gold and Silver keys for her short stories and poems. She is attending San Jacinto College under the Promise grant to obtain her associate's in applied sciences before attending the Commonwealth Institute for Funeral Services where she plan to earn her embalming certification. She wants to own her own funeral home one day. Oh, and she's actively trying to publish her first book, too. Our hobbies include hanging out at our country place in Thornton, Texas, where we see all kids of wildlife, including bobcats!
